Moradabad Schools to Teach Science Through Models Under Rs 33.20 Lakh Learning Scheme

Moradabad's 83 selected schools will receive Rs 33.20 lakh under the Learning by Doing scheme. Students will build solar cars, LED torches, telescopes and other models while learning science through hands-on experiments and practical activities.

Students in council-run schools will now learn science and other subjects through hands-on experiments and model-making activities instead of relying solely on textbooks. Under the Learning by Doing scheme, students will be trained to build models such as solar cookers, LED torches, solar cars, telescopes and mobile projectors.

For the implementation of the scheme, 83 selected schools in the Moradabad division have been allocated a total of Rs 33.20 lakh, with Rs 40,000 earmarked for each school.

The programme is being implemented under Samagra Shiksha across 1,688 selected upper primary and composite schools in Uttar Pradesh. Its objective is to provide students with practical experience alongside textbook knowledge and help them understand concepts in science, mathematics and other subjects through activities.

Under the scheme, students will learn to test soil and water, make toys using plastic bottles, prepare vermicompost and develop gardens featuring medicinal plants. They will also learn to prepare pickles using fruits and vegetables.

For these activities, schools will purchase the required materials so that students can conduct experiments themselves and apply what they learn in practice.

The selected schools will have to purchase the materials within the prescribed time limit.

The initiative aims to make learning more practical by encouraging students to understand academic concepts through experiments and hands-on activities, while developing their ability to apply classroom knowledge in real-life situations.
